Fresh air, long walks and genuine peace - good for everyone, two legs or four. Batcombe Vale is a dog friendly adult only campsite in Somerset where your dog is truly welcome. Because we're adult only, the atmosphere is relaxed and quiet, which means happy dogs and happy guests.
What to know before you arrive:
We welcome up to two dogs per pitch.
Leads - please keep dogs on leads at all times on the campsite
Waste - please pick up after your dog and use the bins provided
Unattended dogs - please don't leave dogs alone on site
Livestock - nearby fields may have cattle, so please keep dogs under close control

The surrounding Somerset countryside is a genuine pleasure for dogs and their owners. However far you want to walk - a gentle stroll or a proper hike - you'll find footpaths, open views and peaceful lanes right from the campsite, ideal for short or longer circular walks.
King Alfred’s Tower (15 mins drive) - A dog-friendly woodland walk with peaceful forest trails surrounding the tower.
National Trust's Stourhead (20 mins drive) - One of the best-known dog-friendly estates in the area. Dogs are welcome across much of the parkland, with lakeside walks, woodlands, and wide open space.
Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (30 mins drive) – Miles of open countryside, hills and trails perfect for on-lead and off-lead walking depending on the route.
