Batcombe, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, UK

The practical details, thoughtfully taken care of.

Everything you need to know about your pitch, the facilities and the little things that make your stay easier.

Your pitch

We welcome tents, trailer tents, roof tents, campervans, motorhomes and caravans, subject to the following size limits.

  • Tents, trailer tents and roof tents — Up to 7m × 5m (23ft × 16ft).

  • Campervans, motorhomes and caravans — Up to 7 m in length.

  • Grass pitches — Most are generally level, although some follow the natural contours of the ground. If you’re travelling in a vehicle, we recommend bringing levelling blocks if you prefer a level surface.

  • Electric hook-up — Selected pitches have a 10-amp connection, available for £8 per night.

  • Hardstanding — One hardstanding pitch is available on request.

  • Pitch requests — Let us know if you prefer sun or shade, or would like adjacent pitches. We’ll do our best to help, although requests cannot be guaranteed.

Each pitch accommodates one main unit: either a tent or caravan with one vehicle, or a motorhome or campervan. A small pup or pop-up tent can also be added to any pitch for a small additional charge.

Firebowls and barbecues

  • Kadai firebowl set hire — £10 for the first night, including the firebowl, a bag of kiln dried logs and kindling. After the first night, use of the firebowl is free for the remainder of your stay. Firebowls are for enjoying the fire rather than cooking.

  • Additional logs — Kiln-dried wood is available to buy on site for £8 per bag.

  • Your own barbecue — Reusable gas or charcoal barbecues are welcome, provided they are raised off the ground to protect the grass. Disposable barbecues are not permitted.

Please keep fires and barbecues well away from tents and awnings, supervise them whenever hot, and follow the site’s fire-safety instructions. Only kiln-dried wood and kindling purchased from us may be used on site. Allow ash to cool completely before placing it in the designated silver ash bin.

Bringing your dog

Dogs are welcome, subject to a few simple rules.

  • Up to two dogs per pitch as standard. A third may be possible by prior arrangement when the site is quiet.

  • £3 per dog, per day.

  • Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and exercised away from the main camping areas.

  • Please clear up after your dog promptly and use the bins in the recycling area.

  • Dogs must not be left unattended.

Please let us know when booking if you’re bringing a dog. For further guidance, see our [Dog-Friendly Camping] page.
