We welcome motorhomes, campervans and caravans up to 7m in length and tents up to 7m x 5m in size. If your tent is larger than this, please get in touch directly as we may be able to accommodate you during quieter periods.
The approach road is steep and single‑track, with a fairly tight turning circle near reception, so we are unable to accept caravans longer than 7m. If you’re in a compact, self‑contained unit and are comfortable with a narrow, sloping approach, you’ll find the site peaceful and very relaxing.
Yes, there is a 3-night minimum for Bank Holidays and 2 nights at all other times.
Batcombe Vale Campsite is an adult-only retreat. This helps us maintain the calm, unhurried atmosphere which our guests particularly appreciate.
Guests aged 16-17 are very welcome when accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or a responsible adult aged 21+.

Yes, as long as you let us know ahead of arrival and as long as we are able. When booking online via our website, please state your friends’ surname(s) in the “Any Questions?’ box on our booking form. If you do this, we will know that you would like to be pitched together.
We welcome small groups of up to three units, during quieter periods, by prior arrangement only, so please get in touch.
We don’t accept large group celebrations, stag or hen parties, as they are not suited to the peaceful nature of the site.
Yes, an up-to-date SatNav will bring you to the top of our clearly signposted drive. From there, follow the track down to the campsite.
You can choose early check-in at the time of booking if your pitch is available; there is a small fee for this.
If early check‑in is not available, please do not arrive before 2pm, as we do not have a dedicated parking area where guests can wait prior to check‑in.
If you expect to arrive after 8pm, please call us in advance to check. There may be a charge for doing so.
Yes, a number of electric hook-up pitches are available (10amps) and can be selected at the time of booking.
Please stop at the reception hut to be welcomed, checked-in and be shown to your allocated pitch. If there is no one at reception, please call the main number (01749 372373). Please never proceed onto the campsite without checking-in, even if you are staying with others who have already arrived.
We ask everyone to be mindful of others by keeping noise low and behaving considerately. If you’re looking for a lively or late-night social scene, we won't be the right fit - but if peace and a slower pace are what you’re after, you’ll feel right at home.
- No amplified music is allowed at any time.
- Quiet hours are 11pm to 8am, so that everyone can enjoy a restful night’s sleep.
- We kindly ask all guests to avoid loud or inconsiderate behaviour at any time
If behaviour is disruptive, unsafe, abusive, or seriously inconsiderate, we reserve the right to ask guests to leave.
Each pitch has space for your tent and one car within our size limits.
Our hot showers are free and operated by push-button.
We’re happy for guests to use fire bowls and non-disposable BBQs, as long as they are raised sufficiently off the ground so as not to burn the grass. Disposable BBQ's are not allowed at any time.
You can also rent a fire bowl kit from us which includes the fire bowl, a bag of logs and kindling. The cost is £15 for the first night, after that, the use of the fire bowl is free for the rest of your stay, no matter how long. If you need extra wood, a bag of kiln‑dried wood costs £10. No wood may be taken from the campsite or the surrounding fields.
When you leave, there’s no need to empty or clean out the fire bowl—just leave it on your pitch or return it to where you collected it and we’ll take care of the rest.
